Applicant must have aged out of the foster care system at age 18 or was adopted after age 16. Applicant must be under 21 years of age, accepted at an accredited college or vocational training, and must not have personal assets greater than $10,000. Applicant must show progress toward a degree and be a U.S. citizen or qualified non-citizen.

Triangle Scholarship Program

Applicant must fit into one of the following categories and criteria: (a) graduating high school senior who: plans to enroll as freshmen at any of North Carolina's post-secondary educational or technical institutions and has a minimum 2.5 GPA; (b) a working single mother who: is actively working in the Research Triangle Area, has a high school diploma or a GED by June, and currently attends or plans to enroll at any of North Carolina's post-secondary educational or technical institutions; (c) a health care profession student who: has a high school diploma or a GED by June and currently attends or plans to enroll at any North Carolina community college to pursue a certificate, diploma or associate's degree in the health care professions.
