Scholarships From Private Organizations

National Association of Health Services Executives

The National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) sponsors a set of three annual scholarships. The awards go to African American graduate students, with the goal of diversifying the profession. Institute for Diversity in Health Management

The Institute for Diversity in Health Management currently provides three scholarships for graduate students pursuing degrees in healthcare administration or an allied degree, such as one of the following: MBA, MPH, MHA, MPA, MSN, and BSN. Here are the listed awards:

• The Transamerica Retirement Solutions Leaders in Health Care Scholarship, for $5,000, is reserved for students in the first or second year of graduate school.
• The Elliott C. Roberts Scholarship for $1,000 recognizes ethnically diverse graduate students in the second year. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA, and show evidence of both community service and financial need.
• The Cathy L. Brock Memorial Scholarship is very like the Roberts award, with two differences: the graduate student may also be in the first year of study, and there is no community service stipulation.
