Applicant must be a United States citizen who is a full-time college/university student at a school in the United States. Selection is based upon the applicant who submits the best overall essay on one of the following topics: (1) How will you further benefit our society by obtaining a degree?; (2) Why is there a high correlation between the level of education attained by an incarcerated person and his or her recidivism rate?; or (3) How does education help break the cycle of poverty?
