Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and hold a master's degree prior to award. Preference given to applicants at the dissertation stage, when course work is completed. Knowledge of both official languages required.
Award may be used at Canadian schools only; permission may be granted for study abroad.
Award amount is in Canadian dollars.
Renewable for two additional years if recipient reapplies.
Study areas: studies relating to current and future Canadian national security and defense issues, including their political, international, historical, social, military, industrial, and economic dimensions
