Critical Needs Teacher Program (CNTP)

Applicant must be enrolled in a program of study that leads to a Class "A" teacher educator license. Applicant must be a junior or senior at a university or college in Mississippi, must have passed or documented exemption from Praxis I, and must agree to become immediately employed in a critical need classroom in Mississippi upon degree completion.

Award is both a scholarship and a loan.

Award covers total cost of tuition and room and board.

Recipient must agree to teach in a critical teacher shortage area in Mississippi for the same number of years in which they received the loan.
