Applicant must be a respiratory therapist with at least a baccalaureate degree and a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Application; proof of acceptance into an advanced degree program of a fully-accredited school and proof of candidacy for a degree, three letters of ; reference attesting to the applicant's character, academic ability, and professional commitment; and essay consisting of at least 1,200 words describing how the ward will assist the applicant in reaching the candidate's ultimate goals of leadership in health care are required to be submitted. Award consists of a certificate of recognition, coach airfare, and one night lodging and registration for the AARC Congress. May also include cash award up to $1,500.
