
Birks Family Foundation Bursary for the Aborginal Co-Operative Education Program and Employment Services
Enrolled in a degree program at the University of Regina. Enrolled in the Aboriginal Co-operative Education Program or Internship Program. Financial need will be determined on an individual basis and may include the following types of situations related to employment readiness: Purchase of appropriate business attire for interview. Driving lessons, car rental fees to take driving test, cost of driving license. Advanced computer training to close the computer skill level gap. Computer purchase and/or internet hook-up for one year. This will allow students to work on school assignments, access job postings, research the company and apply electronically as required. Transportation to and from work for the first month of employment or until the first paycheque is received. Co-operative education fee for students who do not receive funding from Band or other funding agencies. Non-repayable emergency loans relating to employment readiness and placement. University of Regina Centre for Continuing Education, Business and Professional Development programs (Frontline Leadership series and Project Management Certificate) fees.
